2013 Holiday Gift Guide for Dudes

I am one of those people who takes joy in holiday gift shopping. Especially for my husband. I like the challenge of finding that perfect gift: one he'll use, one he's interested in, one he'll enjoy. Some years it is more difficult than others. You see, Hubby isn't into sports, he isn't into video games, and other various things that some guys are into. But thanks to his direction to peruse sites like Huckberry and Art of Manliness , I have found inspiration coming more easily this year.

So I decided to share the wealth with you. Because I'm sure I'm not the only person still gathering last minute gift details. Here are some ideas for big gifts as well as cute stocking stuffers. All are Hubby Approved.I'd like to think of this as the holiday extended version of my Gift for Dudes from Father's Day (so you may see some overlap). And I tried to link to things that you could order and have arrive before Christmas (with Mantry being the one exception)!

Mantry

We're huge fans of Mantry in our house. You can read about my review here. If there is a dude in your life who enjoys food - or would consider himself a "foodie," this monthly subscription box is the way to go. Orders can be made in 1 month, 3 month or 6 month options. In each box, you'll get 5-7 handpicked artisan American food items. Anything from bacon to beer jelly!  They are currently sold out of the holiday Mantry box, but you can order a gift card!

Whiskey Ball

In my Father's Day gift guide, I recommendedWhiskey Stones . But these Whiskey Ball ice cube molds are the bees knees, according to Hubby. They would make Don Draper proud.

Death Star Ice Sphere Mold

If Whiskey Balls are too plain, then perhaps the Death Star Ice Sphere Mold are the better way to go. Especially if you have a Dude in your life that likes to pretend to fight off enemies with a light saber and birthday cards involve encouragement like, "May the force be with you."

(I literally asked Hubby about this last night. I was all, "Seriously? Guys like this stuff?" His response was an intense look of trying to figure out if I was joking or not. Then he said, "Of course.")

Woolrich Flannel Shirt

Hubby stands by the long-time quality of Woolrich. He considers them trustworthy, as they've been in business for over 180 years. Flannel plaid shirts are trending again, and Woolrich Flannel Shirts are the quality kind of clothing that will last a long time. Like, if it has a Woolrich tag, it's a welcome gift to Hubs.

B Lit Flashlight Holder

A friend of mine actually invented this nifty clip. This is an apparatus that allows one to clip a flashlight to just about anything for hands-free lighting: A hat, a window, a stroller. Now you can BBQ at night without having to wrassle the spatula and the flashlight!  The B Lit makes a great stocking stuffer.

Moleskine Notebook

As an English Teacher, Hubby is fond of writing. Perhaps he draws inspiration from Hemmingway or Fitzgerald, but when has the chance, he likes writing in a notebook instead of a computer. For several years running, Hubby has requested a Moleskine Notebook Not only do they look great, but they are a handy notebook that fits easily into a small bag for easy carrying.

I have no idea. But Hubby literally asked for a Slingshot last year. ANd received it. From his parents. Channeling Denis the Menace, maybe?
