‘Tis the season for tasty treats, is it not?
Yet, we spend our time gobbling cookies, candies and a plethora of other tasty nom noms, and in true holiday fashion, never stop to truly appreciate them.
We don’t slow down and savor.
In a recent Motivation Monday, I shared about how the people from Marie Callenders really had me contemplating the whole question of, “How do you slow down and savor?”
It was like a philosophical crisis, people.
Because after much thought, I realized I didn’t. I didn’t slow down. I didn’t savor. I go go go during the holidays. I gobble gobble gobble the entire season down without tasting it. I never stop to linger on the taste of beautiful moments with family, the joy of seeing Christmas through the eyes of my children, the creation of lifelong memories.
We need to taste life, friends.
So with the challenge of slowing down and savoring, Marie C (remember, we’re BFF’s and on a first name/last initial basis) gave me the opportunity to sample two pies: Apple and Peppermint. When I sampled the apple pie, I decided to slow down and savor quietly, away from the chaos. After the girls were in bed and Hubby and I enjoyed slices of pie in a quiet house before the craziness of Thanksgiving commenced.
So this Motivation Monday, I decided to slow down and savor amidst the chaos. With a Peppermint Pie.
We visit my in-laws every Sunday for dinner. This week, I brought dessert! It’s always a joyful level of insanity at our Sunday dinners, as Hubby works part time on Sundays and arrives just before dinner. Throw into the mix fun adult conversation of catching up over the past week and the running around of two excited little girls, it’s a party (or a zoo)!
Having a ready-to-go pie like Marie Callenders simplifies the night a bit. The best thing about the Peppermint Pie is that there is no baking involved! Nope! Just let it defrost (we allowed it to sit out during dinner so it was ready to eat up once dinner was over) and it was GO TIME!
Beautiful pie. It didn't last long.
My wonderful family, amidst the chaos.
Slowing down. Savoring.
This was a double treat, as my mother-in-law loves all things Peppermint.
But I think it's safe to say everyone enjoyed it.
This is the face of one happy consumer.
Having this simplified treat gave us all the chance to slow down, amidst the chaos, and savor. Even if for a short while. But a very good practice for the holidays!
Slow down and savor, friends.
The Peppermint Pie is a limited edition seasonal delight, so make sure to grab it before the season ends!
Marie C decided since you all were cool with me, she was cool with you, and is allowing me to share this $1-off coupon. This bad boy is good for a $1 off ALL Dessert pies. So get TREAT YO’ SELF!
I want to know:
How do YOU Slow Down and Savor amidst the Holiday Chaos?
Share a comment - I’d love to hear from you.
Disclosure: This is a sponsored post and I was provided a gift card to purchase the pies to sample. As always, all opinions are honest and my own. I'm all about keeping it real, y'all!
