Somedays... | Confessions of a Stay-At-Home Mom

March 4, 2010

Some days, you feel like you are getting this "Mom" thing down. You juggle the daily schedule and workload with ease. You communicate seamlessly with your toddler. You might even enjoy an entire 24 hours of being Super Mom.

And then there are the days when your 18-month old gets a wicked case of diaper rash. And she never gets diaper rash. And you had noticed that she has been somewhat off for a day or two, cranky or whiney, and you couldn't figure out why. And then the woman who runs the nursery at your bible study mentions the skin malady on your little one's hiney.

And that day, my friends, you realize, "Hey. I don't have it all together. And that kind of sucks." Welcome to Club Mommy. Hear me say it now: None of us have it all together. It is ok. You've been humbled. And while it might sting, it is a good thing. Because we are all in this together.

Here's to Motherhood...

  1. I think you just wrote about my life, too. :) 3 year olds going head first off a chair anyone? Good times.

  2. How about screaming an emphatic "NO!" at the lunch table as we're guests in someones home.
(granted we try not to let it happen at home either, but...)

I would love to follow the bite I just swallowed - and hide.

  3. Have you read my blog lately? Have you see the craziness that happens in my house? It's hard to keep in mind that other moms are going through the same things though, it's easier to think of one's self as a failure. Thanks for being a "real" mom!

  4. girl, you know I am right there with you.

Hey! Share a thought or two - I'd love to hear from you! ~ Steph
