Barbie has certainly branched out to many different professions, but that body is still the same.

Plus, it's only trashy if she had a boob tat. Duh.

While reading your post, I kept thinking about Toni Morrison's novel The Bluest Eye, which is devastatingly tragic. If I had Oprah money, I'd buy a copy for all the executives (or at least the audio of it) at Mattel.Liz @ Six Year Itchhttp://www.sixyearitch.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5838625907377357191.post-63945429102499285202011-10-28T21:09:05.114-04:002011-10-28T21:09:05.114-04:00Love this post - very well done. I'm with you - increasing diversity among the doll families is important...the uproar shouldn't be that this Barbie is tatted up - but that it is still too hard to find a doll that looks like my kids! Maybe it's because I don't have girls that I don't understand the big deal about dolls. Although I was a little girl once and I had quite the collection of Barbies, but never once did I think I needed to look like them. I agree that children should get out and experience the diverse world around them, that's why I love living in such a diverse area.Mychal B.http://mylifeinmommyland.comnoreply@blogger.com
